A floor sweeping robot having a customised sweeping area, and a control method therefor. The floor sweeping robot comprises a robot body, the bottom part of the robot body being provided with castors (110) and rotating brushes (120), the bottom part of the robot body also being provided with a vacuum opening, a vacuum cleaner connected to the vacuum opening being arranged inside the robot body, a chargeable battery being arranged in the robot body, a GPS positioning module (130) being arranged in the robot body, a storage module (140) used for storing a planar layout drawing of the house also being arranged in the robot body, and a control module (150) used for driving the robot body to sweep on the basis of the planar layout drawing of the house stored in the storage module (140) also being arranged in the robot body. The control method is used for controlling the floor sweeping robot having a customised sweeping area. The present floor sweeping robot having a customised sweeping area and the control method therefor can sweep on the basis of the planar layout drawing of a house, and are highly reliable.
