The invention relates to a baby or toddler bed (2) which can also be used as a cradle, comprising a frame having two horizontal arches (6) and two upper oblique arches (10), wherein the horizontal arches (6) and the upper oblique arches (10) are connected to one another at the end sides via star-shaped elements (12), comprising a textile net (16) stretched between the two horizontal arches (6) and forming a lying surface (20), and comprising net-like side walls (22) surrounding the lying surface (20) which are secured to the upper oblique arches (10). In order to guarantee a high degree of comfort, safety and manageability, according to the invention, the respective side wall (22) has an inner membrane (30) and an outer membrane (24), which are each stretched between one of the upper oblique arches (10) and the textile net (16), and which enclose a chamber (34) acting as a buffer.
