The purpose of the present invention is to provide a digital camera system for obtaining an image exhibiting little distortion. To this end, this digital camera system is configured from: an exchangeable lens 3 equipped with a lens-characteristic-data storage unit 46 for associating distortion/aberration characteristic information that can be applied across a narrow image height range with information pertaining to the image height range, and storing the same, and further equipped with communication units 29, 31, 48 for communicating the retrieved distortion/aberration characteristic information and the image height range information to a camera body 2; and the camera body 2, which is equipped with a solid-state imaging element 11 for subjecting an optical image to a photoelectric conversion and outputting first image data, an image processing unit 25 for receiving input of the first image data, performing image processing including distortion/aberration correction processing, and outputting second image data, and a correction coefficient calculation unit 26 for comparing the image height information in the second image data with the image height range information which can be applied to the retrieved distortion/aberration characteristic information, and when the image height in the second image data falls within the range, calculating the distortion/aberration correction coefficient on the basis of the distortion/aberration characteristics applied to the image height, wherein the image processing unit performs the distortion/aberration correction processing by using the distortion/aberration correction coefficient calculated by the correction coefficient calculation unit.
