The present invention relates to a computing apparatus and method for assisting diagnosis of functional gastrointestinal disorders. An assistant computing apparatus according to an embodiment comprises: a first calculating unit for calculating stiffness information associated with a diagnosis area by analyzing a muscle strength of the diagnosis area; a second calculating unit for calculating substance information from biological electric information collected from the diagnosis area; and a processing unit for determining whether to execute cholecystectomy on the diagnosis area on the basis of the calculated stiffness information and the calculated substance information.
