The present invention relates to a microfluidic device for detecting a target mutant gene. The device of the present invention requires no temperature changes for nucleic acid amplification and can detect a target mutant gene even in the absence of the supply of external power. Accordingly, the device needs not be accompanied by complicated equipment, can be fabricated easily and inexpensively, and is convenient for operation and is easy to carry. In addition, the device can find applications in the detection of a variety of mutant genes and in the simultaneous detection of two or more mutant genes. Further, the present invention relates to a method for improving a detection efficiency of a microfluidic device for detecting a target gene. When utilized, the method of the present invention can greatly reduce the time taken for conventional microfluidic devices for detecting target genes and can increase the accuracy of detection.
