Provided are: a hard coating film which has high hardness, low curling properties and high bendability at the same time; a polarizing plate which uses this hard coating film; a hard coating film processed product; and a display member. A hard coating film 1 which is obtained by providing both surfaces of a transparent base 2 with hard coating layers 3a, 3b, and wherein: the thickness of the transparent base 2 is from 5 μm to 40 μm (inclusive); the respective thicknesses of the hard coating layers 3a, 3b are from 5 μm to 30 μm (inclusive); the total of the volumes of the hard coating layers 3a, 3b is 40% or more of the total volume of the hard coating film 1; and the total thickness of the hard coating film 1 is 80 μm or less.
