The invention relates to a method and a device for handling stacked part carriers which receive parts within an automation cell. This is achieved by the method in that a) multiple part carriers (6) which are stacked on a platform (5) and which receive parts are positioned over an opening (3) in the automation cell (1) at a first locking area (4) that can be found in the automation cell (1) and is a base-side component of a vertical housing (2) shaft (8) through which a vertical main axis (7) runs.
