The present invention relates to an artificial intelligence autonomous smart car and a method for operating the same, by which a habit of a driver who uses the autonomous smart car is recorded and analyzed by the autonomous smart car and optimum information is provided at a proper time when the driver uses the autonomous smart car by using statistics such that the autonomous smart car travels. The present invention provides a method for operating an autonomous smart car, the method including the steps of: recognizing a driver, if a command is input by the driver, executing the command of the driver, and recognizing a new destination; if the new destination is recognized from a determination result, guiding travel setting based on traffic information by the artificial intelligence autonomous smart car, and if a travel start command is input, starting autonomous travel, recording travel data, and if the destination is reached, analyzing and storing the recorded travel data, by the artificial intelligence autonomous smart car; and if not a new destination but the existing destination is recognized from the determination result, guiding travel setting based on a current traffic situation of existing travel analysis data by the artificial intelligence autonomous smart car, if a travel start command is input, starting travel according to a habit or a life pattern based on the existing travel analysis data and recording travel data, and if the destination is reached, analyzing and storing the recorded travel data.
