The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method to detect stress of a chicken and classify the types of the stress of a chicken from the sound of a chicken. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus may comprises: a memory which stores a program detecting the stress of a chicken and classifying the types of stress a chicken is suffering from according to the sound of a chicken received from an audio sensor installed in a chicken house; and a processor which executes a program, wherein the processor acquires sound information of a chicken from an audio sensor, selects characteristic information to detect the stress of a chicken from the acquired sound information of a chicken, and classifies the types of stress a chicken is suffering from based on the selected characteristic information.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
