The present invention relates to a building structure using aerated concrete blocks, and a construction method thereof. The purpose of the present invention is to provide the building structure strong on moisture absorption and moisture transmission, obtaining high appearance and excellent strength by forming a first waterproof layer on a top surface and a lateral surface of a base layer on which the aerated concrete blocks and insulation layers are stacked up, forming a second waterproof layer on an outer surface of the aerated concrete blocks installed in a lower side up to a predetermined height, and installing a galvanized steel plate on the insulation layers installed in a lower side up to a predetermined height. According to the present invention, the building structure using the aerated concrete blocks is capable of solving problems of installing the aerated concrete blocks by completely preventing moisture or water permeated from a lower side of the base layer; completely preventing moisture by maintaining watertightness between the first and second waterproof layers by forming the second waterproofing layer at a predetermined length on the outer surfaces of the aerated concrete blocks; and obtaining an effect of reinforcing durability and contamination resistance by attaching the galvanized steel plate on the lower part of the outer wall instead of bricks or stones.
