The present invention relates to a composition for skin whitening and wrinkle reduction, comprising a Cistanche deserticola extract as an active ingredient. More specifically, a Cistanche deserticola extract, which has excellent 1,1-Diphenyl-2-picryl hydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging activity and has effects of inhibiting activity of tyrosinase, collagenase, elastase and hyaluronidase, can be very usefully used in a cosmetic composition for skin whitening and wrinkle reduction, and an external skin pharmaceutical composition.
