The present invention provides a method for removing nitrogen dioxide from an exhaust gas from a stationary source by use of a carbon dioxide-reducing agent. According to the present invention, any one reducing agent selected from the group consisting of oxygenated hydrocarbons, carbohydrates, and mixtures thereof, which either contain one or more hydroxyl (OH) groups, ether groups, aldehyde groups or ketone groups in one molecule and have 3 or more carbon atoms or two or more hydroxyl groups, ether groups, aldehyde groups or ketone groups in one molecule and have two or more carbon atoms, is injected into the movement path of an exhaust gas containing nitrogen dioxide from one or more injection points. According to the present invention, provided is an advantage in which nitrogen dioxide can be effectively reduced at low costs either by increasing the nitrogen dioxide removal rate versus the amount of reducing agent injected in a wide temperature range or by reducing the production of by-products.
