The present invention relates to a method for preparing high-purity indium oxide from indium scraps. The method according to the present invention comprises the steps of: pulverizing indium scraps into a predetermined size to obtain powder of indium scraps; an indium scrap-dissolving and residue-removing step in which an inorganic acid is introduced to the pulverized powdery indium scraps to dissolve the indium scraps and removing the insoluble residue; a precipitating agent-introducing and metal hydroxide-precipitating step in which a precipitating agent is introduced to the acid solution from which the insoluble residue is removed to precipitate a metal hydroxide with a pH of 3-9; an organic acid-introducing and crystallizing step in which an organic acid is introduced to the metal hydroxide so that it may be crystallized into a metal oxalate; and an indium oxide-forming step in which the crystallized metal oxalate is oxidized in the air. According to the present invention, low-quality indium scraps are pulverized into a predetermined size to produce colloidal particles, which, in turn, are crystallized and oxidized in the air. In this manner, it is possible to high-purity indium oxide. The method according to the present invention generates no waste acid, has a simple working process, and allows eco-friendly and cost-efficient recycle of indium scraps.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
