Disclosed are a heat radiator, especially an infrared radiator, including at least one heat radiating source by means of which supplied electrical energy is convertible into heat radiation, and a control apparatus thereof. The control apparatus includes at least one frequency converting device which has first, second, and third outputs, so that a first alternating current is supplied between the first and third outputs, and a second alternating current is supplied between the second and third outputs, by means of which the at least one radiation source can be operated by the first and second alternating currents.
