The present invention relates to a composition for treating or preventing arthritis using a composition comprising a hot water extract of Anthriscus sylvestris Hoffmann, especially 4′-Demethyl-deoxy podophyllotoxin glucoside derived from roots of Anthriscus sylvestris Hoffmann as an active ingredient. The functional composition has fewer side effects but is effective in treating and preventing rheumatoid arthritis or degenerative arthritis which has not been easy to prevent and treat.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
