The present invention relates to a method for diagnosing a failure of home appliances including a self-failure diagnosis function which can autonomously determine a failure state of an electronic component. The method for diagnosing a failure of home appliances comprises: a first step of measuring power consumption in a standby state; a second step of operating an n^th electronic component, and measuring power consumption of the n^th electronic component; a third step of calculating actual power consumption of the n^th electronic component which is a difference between the standby power consumption and measurement power consumption of the n^th electronic component; and a fourth step of determining whether the actual power consumption of the n^th electronic component is within a safe operation range of the n^th electronic component.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
