The present invention relates to a method of preparing a silver coated glass frit used in a paste composition for forming a solar cell electrode, and a silver paste composition for a solar cell using the same. Specifically, the present invention provides a method of preparing a silver-coated glass frit in which a silver (Ag) coating layer is uniformly formed on the surface of the glass frit having a relatively low glass transition temperature (Tg), through a simple process of adding a reductant solution to a mixture solution containing silver nitrate (AgNO_3) mixed with a glass frit and amine. According to the present invention, the silver-coated glass frit prepared by the method, when used in producing a silver paste composition for a solar cell, can significantly improve sintering characteristics in silver (Ag) particles as the glass frit having a low glass transition temperature helps melting of the silver (Ag) coated on the outside of the glass frit even in a relatively short sintering process; and can significantly improve electrical characteristics of a solar cell by improving contact characteristics with a substrate and reducing contact resistance between the substrate and an electrode.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
