The material design apparatus includes a modeler, a database, a simulation operation unit, a virtual reality control unit, and a central control unit. The modeler combines a plurality of aperiodic or periodic material components on a Virtual Reality (VR) implementation based on a Head Mount Display (HMD) and a motion capture device to generate a hybrid nanomaterial Structure or nanodevice structure. The database stores the generated material structure, and the recursive material structure that combines the created material structure with the pre-stored existing material structure. The simulation operator calculates at least one of the material characteristics of the generated material structure, the existing material structure, or the recursive material structure based on a nano scale simulation. The virtual reality control unit provides a virtual reality interface based on the hand gesture to a plurality of users, and controls the head mount display and the motion capture device worn by each user. The central control unit controls operations of the modeler, the database, the simulation operation unit, and the virtual reality control unit.
