The method creates storybooks corresponding to user interactions with the virtual game environment. The computing device receives user input to control actions of the virtual character within the virtual game environment and records a time sequence of events from the virtual game environment without user input. Following recording, the user is presented with a sequence of simulated pages corresponding to a sequence of events. Each simulated page contains individual recorded images for individual events and includes individual text describing the events. At least for a subset of the simulated pages, the user modifies the individual text. An output file is generated that contains a sequence of simulated pages that are modified by the user.
