The present invention relates to an artificial intelligence (AI) traffic light control method using a vision image analysis and a controller thereof. The AI traffic light controller using a vision image analysis according to the present invention includes: a camera installed at an intersection; a traffic light installed at the intersection; a vision image analysis device which divides an image captured by the camera into regions, extracts data according to the regions, compares extracted frames, and generates a control command to control the traffic light using the result of analyzing the number, movement, or speed of vehicles and people; a control and data interface for receiving and relaying the control command; and a traffic signal controller for controlling the traffic light by the control command received through the control and data interface. Accordingly, the present invention can save the time and energy of a driver by reducing a standby time at the intersection.
