A ductile radiation shielding material including hydrogel of the present invention comprises a hydrogel matrix which is a water-containing polymer of an interpenetrating polymer structure comprising ionic cross linkage and covalent cross linkage. The ductile radiation shielding material may have the properties of ductility and excellent elasticity even when the thickness thereof is increased. The present invention prevents or minimizes the generation of cracks in a radioactive material shielding material due to vibration or shock, thereby providing a stable radiation shielding effect.
