The present invention relates to a green tea polysaccharide prepared by using a column extracting method and a preparation method thereof. The green tea polysaccharide prepared according to the present invention is a green tea polysaccharide having a polyphenol content of less than 3% by weight and a polysaccharide content of 97% by weight or more.
