The present invention relates to a composition for detecting fingerprints from both sides of thermal printing paper, and a method for detecting fingerprints using the same. Conventionally, fingerprints have been detected only on a side with thermal printing including a pigmented layer coated with a pigment developing black on the thermal printing paper. The composition of the present invention enables fingerprint detection on both a side of thermal printing including the pigmented layer coated with the pigment developing desired colors on the thermal printing paper and on a side without thermal printing with no pigmented layers.
