The present invention relates to a composition for preventing, improving or treating leukemia comprising a Nemopilema nomurai hexane extract, and specifically, to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating leukemia comprising a Nemopilema nomurai extract as an active ingredient, to a food composition for improving leukemia comprising the extract as an active ingredient, and to a method for preventing or treating leukemia comprising a step for administering the pharmaceutical composition. The composition comprising the Nemopilema nomurai hexane extract of the present invention exhibits effects of programmed cell death and cell cycle arrest in chronic myelogenous leukemia cells, thereby being usefully used as a therapeutic agent for leukemia which has few side effects and exhibits excellent therapeutic activity.
