Disclosed are a ceria nanocomposite for biomedical treatment containing ceria nanoparticles, and a pharmaceutical composition. The disclosed ceria nanocomposite for biomedical treatment includes: the ceria nanoparticles; and a surface modified layer disposed on surfaces of the ceria nanoparticles. The surface modified layer includes polyethylene glycol residues, and the content of Ce^(3+) in the ceria nanoparticles is greater than that of Ce^(4+).
