A lance for bottom blowing metal by gases in a bucket contains a metal sleeve, a bottom, a refractory mass, a wear indicator, a gas conduit, and slotted channels. In order to prevent clogging of the slotted channels with metal and (or) slag during the cleaning of the lance with oxygen, metal slag traps are made in them, which are bridges between wide faces. Metal sludge traps are made in rows with gaps between each other and between rows, the width of metal sludge traps being equal to or greater than the gaps between them, while the metal sludge traps in one row are opposite the gaps between them in another row. The distance between adjacent rows is equal to or less than the maximum penetration depth of the metal and (or) slag at which they are pushed out of the slotted channels by the pressure of an inert gas. The metal slag traps on the bottom of the bucket have a concave shape, and on the supply side of an inert gas have a streamlined shape, and the levels of metal slag traps in one slot channel are between their levels in adjacent slot channels. 1 ill.
