The present invention provides a 3D printing method for producing metal components (1) with integrated glass fibers (3, 3 '). The 3D printing process comprises heating and liquefying a metal modeling material (2a), depositing the metal modeling material (2a) in layers in layers of material, and layer-wise curing the metal modeling material (2a) in the layers of material. Furthermore, the 3D printing process comprises heating and liquefying a glass modeling material (2b), depositing the glass modeling material (2b) layer by layer in the layers of material, and laminating the glass modeling material (2b) in the layers of material. The metal component (1) is formed integrally from the deposited material layers. The metal modeling material (2a) and the glass modeling material (2b) are deposited in the material layers such that the cured glass modeling material (2b) forms at least one glass fiber (3, 3 ') through the metal component (1). Furthermore, the present invention provides a metal component (1) with integrated glass fibers (3, 3 '), which is produced by the method according to the invention.
