The invention relates to a process for producing a polyacrylonitrile-based material which is usable as a component of an electrode material of electrochemical energy storage cells comprising at least partially dissolving at least one polyacrylonitrile starting material in an organic aprotic solvent or a mixture of such solvents, wherein the amount of Polyacrylonitrile starting material and organic aprotic solvent / the mixture of organic aprotic solvents - 0.01 to 0.1 wt .-%, preferably 0.04 wt .-%, based on the amount of polyacrylonitrile starting material at least one ionic, of the / the organic aprotic solvent (s) of various solvents, - 0.01 to 0.05% by volume, preferably 0.012% by volume, based on the volume of the organic aprotic solvent / mixture of organic aprotic solvents of at least one butyrophenone, and - 0.01 to 0.05% by weight, preferably 0.02% by weight, based on the amount of the organic aprotic solvent / mixture of organic aprotic solvents, of at least one nonionic surfactant. The present invention also includes an electrode for an electrochemical energy storage cell with a material obtainable according to the invention and an electrochemical energy storage cell with such an electrode.
