The subject of the application relates to a method for the regeneration of a NOx storage catalytic converter during the operation of an autonomously driving vehicle. The method uses the control of a drive train and an internal combustion engine to drive off a driving profile, so that there are favorable operating conditions for the regeneration of the NOx storage catalytic converter. The invention further comprises a device designed to carry out the method and a vehicle which comprises a device designed for carrying out the method.
