An adjustable saddle tree 1 having an arched head 2, a gullet plate, and a cap plate 4. There are first, second and third sets of holes in the cap plate, head, and gullet plate, respectively. The holes may receive rivets R, fastening the cap plate and gullet plate together with the head between to hold the angle of the arch of the head. The holes H in the cap plate may be elongate or configured to allow adjustment of the angle of the arch without shearing of the rivets. Each hole H is may be of flattened oval or 'racetrack' shape. The arch of the head 2 may be split into two halves along a central axis of the saddle tree 1. The tree may be constructed of wooden or laminated layers L. Also disclosed is a saddle comprising the adjustable saddle tree, and a method of making an adjustable saddle tree.
