PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for repairing defect on a hot component of a turbomachine through a hybrid hot isostatic pressing (HIP) process.SOLUTION: A hot isostatic pressing method is provided, comprising: placing a component affected by structural imperfections in a leak-free container 11; introducing a medium into the container 11 to embed completely the component; outgassing the container 11 to remove gases and water vapor from within the container 11; sealing the apertures of the container 11; placing the container 11 inside a pressurized heating vessel 10 of a hot isostatic pressing apparatus; pressing and heating the container 11 with predetermined pressure and temperature, for a predetermined holding time interval; extracting the component from the container 11; and applying a second cleaning to the component, wherein the medium comprises non-metallic material in form of powder or grains the dimensions of which are larger than the minimum dimension of the larger structural imperfection of the component under treatment.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
