PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new plier-like instrument for orthopaedic surgery.SOLUTION: A plier-like instrument for orthopaedic surgery for performing surgery to a patella includes: at least two jaws 2, 3 combined to corresponding handle members 12, 13 attached so as to pivotally move with respect to each other by using a hinge bo distal clamp parts 8, 9 at respective jaws for gripping and holding a peripheral edge of the patella; an intermediate force transmission mechanism 4 between instrument handle members and the jaws; two arms 20, 30 independent from the handle members in structure and placed between the handle members and jaws; an elastic member for combining each arm to the handle member at a first connection point; and a second distal connection point at each arm for fitting with a distal edge of the handle member. The first connection point of one of the arms and the second connection point of the other arm cross and are connected to the same handle member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
