PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide effective low molecular weight compounds that induce differentiation from a mesenchymal stem cell to a hepatocyte.SOLUTION: Disclosed is a differentiation inducing agent from a mesenchymal stem cell to a hepatocyte which contains a compound represented by formula (9) and a salt thereof or solvates thereof. A method for producing a hepatocyte from a mesenchymal stem cell comprising treating a mesenchymal stem cell with a compound represented by formula (9), a salt thereof, or solvates thereof is also disclosed. The implant in a cell sheet form can be produced. A differentiation inducing agent which inhibits a Wnt/β catenin signaling pathway is disclosed. The mesenchymal stem cell is a bone marrow-derived cell.SELECTED DRAWING: None
