PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dissimilar material jointing spot welding method, a joint auxiliary member, and a dissimilar material welding coupling, which can joint dissimilar material between an aluminum alloy or a magnesium alloy and steel highly efficiently in high-rigidity and reliability quality and can be applied without limitation for either an open cross-section structure or a close cross-section structure.SOLUTION: A dissimilar material welding coupling 1 includes an upper plate 10 made of aluminum alloy or magnesium alloy, and a lower plate 20 made of steel which is spot-welded onto the upper plate 10. The upper plate 10 has a hole 11 which faces an overlapped surface with the lower plate 20, has a stepped contour shape which has an insertion part 31 to be inserted to the hole 11 provided on the upper plate 10 and a non-insertion part 32, further, has a joint auxiliary member 30 made of steel having a recessed part 33 which is recessed toward the insertion part 31 from the non-insertion part 32 on a center part, and a weld part W is formed by the lower plate 20 and the insertion part 31 of the joint auxiliary member 30.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
