PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, kit, proteins and nucleic acid for detecting phospholipid hydroperoxide dependent cell death, and a prophylactic or therapeutic agent for diseases related to phospholipid hydroperoxide dependent cell death by identifying the factors involved in the pathway of cell death by PHGPx deficiency.SOLUTION: The method for detecting phospholipid hydroperoxide dependent cell death, comprises the step of detecting generation of phospholipid hydroperoxide and activation of Cdadc1 homolog in a cell sample.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 27
