PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a complex of a shikonin-based compound and -1,3-1,6-glucan, which has practically sufficient dispersibility and solubility in water.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing a complex of a shikonin-based compound and -1,3-1,6-glucan comprising a step of mixing a shikonin-based compound (a), a basic compound (b) and -1,3-1,6-glucan (c) having a ratio of the -1,6 bond to the -1,3 bond of 50 to 100%. Also provided is a method for producing a complex of a shikonin-based compound and -1,3-1,6-glucan comprising a step of mixing the shikonin-based compound (a) and -1,3-1,6-glucan (c) having the ratio of the -1,6 bond to the -1,3 bond of 50 to 100% in a solution made basic using the basic compound (b) and a step of neutralizing the solution using a neutralizer (d). The basic compound (b) preferably includes amines.
