PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Heusler type iron-based thermoelectric material which is improved in electrothermal characteristics by suppressing the rise in an electric resistivity ρ and lowering a thermal conductivity κ.;SOLUTION: A thermoelectric material comprises: a base material having crystal grains including an Fe2 VAl based Heusler compound represented by the formula (1) below; and Cu phases distributed in the crystal grains.
