PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a load amount estimation device capable of grasping a load amount without directly measuring it, in a distribution system including a photovoltaic power generation system.SOLUTION: The load amount estimation device includes an estimation model generation part 101, an estimation part 102 and a storage part 103. The estimation model generation part generates an estimation model. In the estimation model, an observation signal with a solar radiation measurement R measured by a solar radiation meter installed within the distribution system and an effective power flow Pnet of a distribution line as elements is represented by linear coupling of a mixed matrix and a signal source. The mixed matrix includes a total facility capacity (k) of the photovoltaic power generation system as an element, and the signal source includes load required power Pload and the solar radiation measurement R within the distribution system as elements. The estimation part separates/estimates the load required power Pload and the total facility capacity (k) from the observation signal of the generated estimation model in accordance with techniques of independent component analysis.
