The present invention relates to the expression of a specific combination of three bacterial chaperones in eukaryotic cells. This in particular significantly improves its growth properties and its properties with respect to resistance to physicochemical stress when the cells contain further modifications using at least one non-native gene. Preferred combinations of chaperones include the E. coli chaperones GroES and GroEL and the Synechococcus elongatus chaperone RbcX.Selection drawing None
