How to distinguish Edwardsis resistant flounder

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods for discriminating a flounder resistant to edwardsiellosis, thereby enabling efficient aquaculture of flounders having the edwardsiellosis resistance character.SOLUTION: The method comprises: carrying out PCR reaction by using as a primer a genetic marker consisting of a specific base sequence or a partial sequence thereof of a DNA extracted from a flounder, or an egg or processed product thereof; comparing the result with another amplification result of a flounder from a strain which has been identified to be resistant to edwardsiellosis as a result of passage and raising the strain separately; and discerning whether the flounder is resistant to edwardsiellosis when the sizes of these two thus compared coincide with each other.
