PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrophobic stress light-emitting material having practically sufficient water resistance.SOLUTION: A hydrophobic stress light-emitting material is obtained by covering the surface of a stress light-emitting material with silane coupling agent for subjecting it to heat treatment. The hydrophobic stress light-emitting material has 10 vol.% or more of a degree of hydrophobicity obtained by measuring a wettability of powder to the solution by changing a water-methanol ratio.
