PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayer ceramic capacitor which has satisfactory life and voltage endurance characteristics even if a dielectric layer is 0.8 μm or less in thickness.SOLUTION: A dielectric material comprises: ceramic powder having an additive element X which is at least one element selected from a group consisting of Ba, Ti, Mo, Ta, Nb and W. In the dielectric material, the standard deviation/mean value of ratios of peak intensities (XKα) of the additive element X vs. peak intensities of the Ti(TiKα), which are measured by an STEM-EDX at a total five points consisting of three points that quadrisect a maximum diameter of a particle of the ceramic powder, and two of three points that quadrisect a diameter orthogonal to the maximum diameter at its midpoint, excluding the midpoint, is less than 10.5%. The dielectric material is used to manufacture a dielectric layer.SELECTED DRAWING: None
