Embodiments of the present invention generally relate to the treatment of schizophrenia in an individual, and more specifically to the treatment of an individual with iloperidone, an iloperidone metabolite, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. In one embodiment, the invention provides an individual in a daily dose of about 12 mg to about 16 mg of iloperidone, an iloperidone metabolite, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof after a period of stabilization of the individual's schizophrenia.
