Firstly, the spark discharge compulsory means operates a main ignition circuit 8 according to an input of a variety of kinds of command signals, and succeedingly operates an energy input circuit 9. Then, the abnormality determination means determines whether or not spark discharge is generated by the execution of the spark discharge compulsory means, and continues for a prescribed period. By this constitution, it can be determined whether or not continuous spark discharge is normally generated in an ignitor 1 having the energy input circuit 9.
