PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character training tool and a character training method which enable a user to master a writing skill so as to reproduce characters as in an example by himself or herself by memory with an accurate understanding of shapes and features of characters.SOLUTION: There are provided a character training tool and a character training method in which an example column carrying examples of characters composed of characters, symbols or graphics is configured at one end of a front sheet S1, and one or more tracing columns, free writing columns, and memory writing columns are configured sequentially in a rear sheet S2. With polygonal lines configured at predetermined parts among the respective columns, the sheet is formed of a material which makes an example visible through when the example column of the font sheet is folded and placed on the rear side of the tracing column. A position of the example column is changed by ridge-folding or trough-folding the polygonal lines to keep on filling in the tracing columns, the free writing columns, and the memory writing columns sequentially with example characters.
