PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inhibitor of the production of an advanced glycation end product (AGE), wherein the inhibitor contains substances which can suppress the production of AGEs, considered to cause various lifestyle diseases, the inhibitor is useful for the prevention and/or treatment of lifestyle diseases, particularly diabetes or diabetic complications, and the inhibitor causes less adverse drug reactions.SOLUTION: The present invention provides an inhibitor of the production of an advanced glycation end product, the inhibitor containing sorbitol as an active ingredient.
