PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for cutting a round pipe, enabling a low-rigidity round pipe to be efficiently cut while preventing deformation of the pipe.SOLUTION: The cutting apparatus comprises: a support base comprising at least two lower rollers which are horizontally mounted in the support bas in such a way that the rotation axes thereof may be parallel to each other and on which a round pipe is placed and held; a pressing part which includes two upper rollers mounted in the pressing part in such a way that rotation axes thereof may be parallel to each other, and which abuts the upper rollers against the upper portion of the round pipe with a predetermined pressing force while the rotation axes of the upper rollers and the lower rollers are parallel to each other; and a cutting part which is mounted in a portion below the lower rollers, of the support base and cuts the lower portion of the round pipe. At least one of the upper rollers and the lower rollers is a drive roller that rotates the round pipe when the cutting part cuts the round pipe.
