PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method that enables objective determination of awakening feeling of flavor.SOLUTION: An awakening feeling of flavor is evaluated by steps of: measuring cerebral blood flow for measuring variation of a subject's cerebral blood flow when the subject smells a certain flavor; and evaluating awakening feeling for determining the subject's awakening feeling toward the flavor on the basis of a cerebral portion where the cerebral blood flow increased. The step of evaluating awakening feeling determines that the subject has felt the flavor as refreshing when an increase of cerebral blood flow is detected in at least one area selected from a group made of the frontal eye field, prefrontal area laterodorsal side portion, frontal pole, orbit frontal area, inferior frontal gyrus triangular portion, and inferior prefrontal area.
