PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To switch a current control program to an updated control program in a state that a ticket examination task is continued without being accompanied by processing of restart.SOLUTION: When receiving a switching instruction signal (CS), an automatic ticket gate includes a function for switching program processing following a control program of a control part currently in operation to program processing following the control program of the control part currently on standby under such conditions that the control part in operation is not under processing as a processing state inside the automatic ticket gate, and that there does not exist any user in a ticket examination passage and its neighborhood as a user trend state outside the automatic ticket gate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
