PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To operate texture such as wetness or dryness without requiring any assumption about the real world.SOLUTION: In order to operate the texture of at least one of the wetness and of dryness, at least one of the following processes is performed. The processes include: a process of modulating, in the positive direction, the degree of distortion of the luminance histogram of a first image derived from an input image, and obtaining a first output image having an increased chroma; and a process of modulating, in the negative direction, the degree of distortion of the luminance histogram of a second image derived from the input image, and obtaining a second output image having a decreased chroma.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
